A proposed law, introduced during a session for consideration by the Legislature, and identified numerically in order of presentation; also, commonly, but incorrectly, refers to Joint and Concurrent Resolutions, and Constitutional Amendments. In State Legislation- (AB____#, SB____#) Assembly Bill or Senate Bill. These measures declare, command or prohibit something.
Government Glossary: A public officer of integrity who is appointed by the state, and whose function it is to serve the public as an impartial witness, administer oaths, to attest and certify, by hand and official seal, on certain classes of documents, to give them credit and verify authenticity. They verify the identity of the signer, but not the veracity of the document. A document so certified is said to be "notarized."
